Where they live?
Mexico's Copper Canyon region is located in the Sierra Madre Mountains in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Known locally as the Sierra Tarahumara, the region covers about 20,000 square miles. The school is located in the small town of Cerocahui. |
| Many live primitively, subsisting on corn, beans, and their livestock. In the winter they live in caves, and move into small log cabins during the summer. They are excellent weavers and produce fine wool blankets to provide warmth during the harsh winters . They also make baskets that are often sold to tourists. |

Tarahumara consititute the largest indigenous group in the state of Chihuahua. The population is between 50,000 and 75,000 although the exact number is difficult to determine because of the inaccessibility of the mountains, and due to communication difficulties. |
